5203 - Parma Gold. 105 days. A firm golden storage onion from the Parma region of Italy. No bolting despite extra spring chilling outdoors, maturing in August with plenty of time to field dry before rain. Medium sized bulbs stored well to spring. A sturdy, hardy onion that did well in suboptimal condition.Can be direct-seeded or transplanted, where transplanting is recommended for shorter growing seasons. For direct seeding, sow at 0.5cm depth as soon as soil warms in spring. Sow 3cm apart and thin to 5-8cm . Optimal soil germination temperature is 23-29ºC.
